About the package
In Oman, it is usually the most beautiful thing that is nicely hidden. Whether it's new amazing resorts in the mountains or the best beach hotels. The Omani do not tolerate pomp, but in connection with their country, which they still want to have as they see it. Although the pressure from the tourism industry is relentless, especially since the beauties of Oman are clear, the country is resisting the onslaught in its own way. That's why Six Senses Zighby Bay treated Oman with respect, and when he was able to place the resort in the unspoilt Musandam peninsula, he did so with a sixth sense. The resort is huddled under the steep peaks of the rocky mountains that cover the entire peninsula, next to a small fishing village, right on a beautiful almost two-kilometer beach shaded by 1,500 palm trees. The entire Omani enclave of the Musandam Peninsula is surrounded on all sides by the borders of the United Arab Emirates, so the best way to get to Six Senses is a flight to Dubai and then a two-hour jeep ride across the country.
The resort welcomes you in the Omani countryside, consisting of 82 villas, each with its own swimming pool and courtyard bordered by a stone wall. As a result, you really feel like you're in the middle of an unadulterated Omani settlement. Water is an important element in the resort and in many respects draws inspiration from the traditional Omani fables, which have ingeniously irrigated fields and houses. The resort has two central pools, one of which is so far the only one in the Gulf filled with seawater. Each of the villas in a very rustic style provides maximum privacy. Peace and family care have one purpose, and that is to bring the client maximum regeneration. The Six Senses brand is renowned for its spa care, which is why some villas are equipped with a relaxation area in the outdoor area for daily massages, which the client can supplement with yoga lessons, strength training in the adjacent gym or a visit to a traditional hammam.
From the very first moment, the guest also has the opportunity to meet the culinary team in person, from the chef to the sommelier. Their biggest pride is their own garden with fresh products, which can be appreciated during the day in the stunning Spice market restaurant with local and Mediterranean cuisine, where you feel like in a real Arab market, where everything is just yours. At the International Summer House, the biggest pride is homemade ice cream and sorbets, Sense on the Edge at 290 meters above sea level offers a romantic dinner with a view of the entire resort in the palm of your hand. Several times a week there is a barbecue on the beach in the Bedouin bar Shua Shack, including a slow roast of mutton and a rich oriental mezze, where they will offer you free ice cream during the day. The Zighy Bar serves soft drinks, cocktails and tapas throughout the day, and there is a mix of Italian osteria, Greek taverns and Arabic shawarma next to the seawater pool.
In addition to swimming, guests can enjoy a range of non-motorized sports (free), paragliding, tennis, water skiing, traditional dhow boating on the beautiful fjords and, in particular, great diving and climbing, ideal for Musandam. You can explore the surrounding canyons and countryside on bicycles or in a 4x4 jeep. If you plan to take children with you, then there are clubs for all ages in the resort. For adults, there is a library next to the reception, including a home office with internet access and a hotel souk. You can end the day in this beautiful place by watching a movie in a summer cinema right on the beach or watching millions of stars from the observation tower.
