Even the famous brand Anantara did not resist the lure of the Omani mountains and opened its resort immediately after Alila on the so-called Green Mountain, which is famous for its terraces of rose bushes and pomegranates. She chose its top, from where impressive views open, and thus became the highest hotel in the Middle East. Architect Lotfi Sidirahal was given the task of creating a resort whose crown will be a typical fortress abounding in Omani hospitality and at the same time provide guests with maximum privacy, so for example all 33 suites with 29-degree heated pools are located either on the edge of the mountain or in a garden with enclosed courtyards. . The green mountain can be enjoyed in all its forms, the more adventurous can go down the rope accompanied by an experienced climber directly into the canyon below the hotel, conquer the 200-meter-long climbing route and still ride in a steep slope along the 35-meter-long zipline. Those less hardy can enjoy the majesty of the Green Mountain from the glass hanging terrace, which literally hovers over the canyon, or from the central pool. Among other activities, yoga lessons, cooking, photography, painting, archery, cycling trips (bike rental is free), sightseeing tours to the surrounding settlements or picnics in the open air are popular. Each activity is connected with the traditions of the region, for example, in cooking lessons you can take part in the preparation of a traditional Omani dish from goat meat šuwa, during walks you can refresh yourself in a traditional irrigation canal called faládž, etc.
The rooms are equipped with traditional Omani furniture with wrought iron fittings, the air smells of rose water, which is produced directly in the villages on the slopes of the mountain, and mixes with the scent of traditional incense. In the hotel spa you will prepare a peeling, as usual, from pomegranate with salt.
As well as the original environment, all three restaurants, a café and a special lounge for a hookah or a romantic dinner over the canyon are great.
