Prior to the opening of the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, Al Bustan was considered the best hotel in the entire Gulf region. The reason is, among other things, a unique location at a romantic bay near the original old Muscat, where the palace of the Omani Sultan is located. Sultan Kabous (may he rest in peace) was the man who had lifted Oman from the Middle Ages to the 21st century at virtually rocket speed. He like the Al Bustan Hotel very much and during his life you would have the chance to meet this exceptional person directly in the hotel lobby, whose "cathedral" space is characterized by another Omani symbol - the frankincense.
The hotel underwent a gradual extensive renovation in recent years, completed in October 2018. However, Al Bustan's greatest beauty is hidden in its large garden with exotic birds at its own 1 km private sandy beach with the backdrop of dramatic coastal mountains. The hotel has 250 rooms, including 50 suites with private butlers, most of whom are licensed from the most prestigious school in the industry. Some of them also served the Omani Sultan himself. The hotel is particularly popular among the older generation and is also known for its tennis club and spa. The jewel of the hotel has become a new 50-meter infinity pool, which is one of the five pools throughout the complex. Guests are kindly welcomed with a fruit basket upon arrival. The fruit and minibar are replenished daily with soft drinks and water. In addition, the hotel offers free internet access and a daily shuttle service to the historic center of Muscat.
